Summer Horsemanship Camps at Centennial Acres

Returning for 2008! Throughout June, July, and August, Centennial Acres offers week long basic horsemanship camps for beginning riders ages 5 -12. Each camp session is Monday through Thursday from 10 am to 4pm.

Fees = $200/week   Camp Registration Form        Release Form

While at camp, children learn the basics of horsemanship, stable management, colors, markings, breeds, tack care, plus lots more. It’s a great time for the young horseperson to learn about and have fun with horses!

Camp Basics:

  • Campers are required to wear a boot with a heel and long pants and a helmet for safety while riding. (We have helmets the campers can borrow.)

  • Campers need to bring a sack lunch. A snack will be provided in the afternoon.

  • Forms must be filled in and returned to CAEC before the camper may ride.

  • There will be approximately a one hour riding lesson every day.

  • Each Thursday a time is set aside time for parents to come and watch their children ride.

Registration starts January 1st for the following summer, call Thea @ 616.392.6865.

Register early as spots fill quickly!

Occasionally an advanced camp is offered which is geared towards children who want to learn about showing. This is reserved for individuals who own a horse or lease one of our horses. Inquire for availability.
